Our favorite tradition is packing the kids into the car and going out to look for a Christmas tree! Thanks for entering me in the drawing! The tags look so fun.

One of my favorite holiday traditions has always been the Christmas stocking.
Finding just the right little treasures to stuff them with is so much fun.
As a child, some of my favorite holiday memories involve sneaking into the livingroom with my sister to grab our stockings early Christmas morning and running back to our room to dump them onto our beds and marvel at all the little goodies that were packed inside.

Every Christmas Eve we have a family party and eat soup and breadsticks, and lots of yummy desserts. The kids act out the Christmas story from the Bible and everyone always has a wonderful time.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I loved being able to open one present on Christmas Eve. Now Christmas has taken a different path and so I love to see the faces of little ones when they see what presents they have received.

For as long as I can remember my family has celebrated our Christmas dinner on Boxing Day (in Canada that is Dec 26). It’s a much saner day and we actually get to sit down, enjoy each other’s company and talk and eat and savor the food that is shared. It’s a nice way to keep the holiday season from being just one day of visiting, food and other events. I’m glad my parents started this tradition for us.

We have a gift exchange and pass around the gifts while my mom reads “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and whatever gift we have at the end of the story we keep and open. Every time she says the word “the” we pass the gift we have to the person to our right. She ALWAYS adds about 50 more “thes” than there really are in the story..it’s a lot of fun…lol

Thanks for the opportunity to win the darling tags!

My favorite tradition is loading up the kids (and now grandkids) and going to see the christmas lights and then coming home and baking cookies.

One of my favorite traditions is exchanging pajamas.
We draw “Pollyanna” names on Thanksgiving and we buy a pair of pj’s for that person and exchange them on Christmas eve. This started years ago Mom would give us new pj’s every Christmas eve and as we got older and the family of 7 expanded to a family of 16 we decided to draw names instead of Mom and Dad having all the expense.I look forward to it every year.

Okay, I have two. The first is going to Salt Lake City to see the Christmas Lights at Temple Square. It’s also a good excuse for us all to spend time together and such a great place to be together. We have to see the Nativity once and also go see the statue of Christ in the Visitor’s Center.
My other one is when my family plays Shanghai together on Christmas Eve. FYI, Shanghai is a card game that is very similar to Phase 10. When we are with our other relatives, we get such a huge game going that we don’t have enough decks of cards and table space so we have to pair up. Of course we have a lot of food to snack on. Soda, cheese, crackers, shrimp, cocktail wieners. My parents usually get one of those Hickory Farms boxes and let us eat them then. The game takes long enough to play, especially if you have a lot of people, that we play until we can hardly hold out eyes open. It makes it so much easier to get some sleep when you are so excited for presents!
